Monica Judge’s essays have appeared in AGNI, Blackbird, Southern Humanities Review, River Teeth’s Beautiful Things, New Delta Review, Off Assignment, and elsewhere. Her essay, “Still Life,” won first place in Fourth Genre’s 2023 Steinberg Memorial Essay Prize and her essay, “Near the Hollows,” was listed as notable in Best American Essays 2023. “Pangea Ultima,” published in 2025 by Blackbird, was a finalist in 2024 for the Georgia Review Prose Prize. The New Literary Project named her a Jack Hazard Fellow in 2024, an award offered to ten creative writers from around the country who are full-time high school teachers at work on full-length manuscripts. Monica is an English teacher, school newspaper adviser, and a wife and mother of two who lives in Maryland. She is at work on a collection of essays.
